Our beloved Marie went to the Rainbow Bridge on Friday afternoon April 8, 2022. She came into our family 16 years ago as a kitten. We adopted her at a Farmers Market, choosing her from all the other kittens up for adoption as she was so gentle and allowed us to hold her! Her name, Marie, was taken from the kitten in Disney’s Aristocats. Marie had the most beautiful blue eyes! She was a very loving, cuddly cat and was always ready for pets on her head, rubbing her ears, scratching under her chin, squeezes, hugs and naps. A bit spoiled, Marie would sleep in the bed with mama at night and in the morning was carried on mama’s shoulder to the kitchen for fresh water and breakfast! She was a faithful and constant companion, waiting anxiously for her loving family to get home from work, greeting at the door with meowing and circling our feet until she was picked up and she would start purring! We often said she was our “therapy cat” because no matter the kind of day we were having, just holding Marie made everything better. She loved sitting wherever we were in the house, whether we were at the kitchen table, on the computer, studying or relaxing. Marie loved sitting on the couch watching movies with us. Her presence was calming, just laying on the bed with her would have you sleeping in no time. She made her needs known, sitting next to her bowl when she needed water or a snack and meowing to get our attention. Marie had lots to say in the evening and would chime in on our conversations! She really was the center of our world. There’s so much more to say and yet there aren’t enough words to describe how much we love her and what a huge loss we feel. Marie, you were the very best kitty and we don’t know how we got so lucky to have you in our family. Thank you for loving us. We love you forever and will remember you always.
