Isis was my heart dog. She was a retired racing greyhound. We adopted her directly from the Seabrook Race Track (now closed) in Seabrook, NH. When Isis first came home she was afraid of everything. She had never seen a bicycle, or even a dog of another breed. She didn’t know how to play with toys or climb stairs. It took several years, a lot of love and patience, but she became a very confident dog. Isis had her own strict rules about was appropriate and what wasn’t. She never laid of the sofa- always used her bed. She was sweet, quiet and gentle. She rarely ever barked. She loved to socialize with other dogs- especially other greyhounds. She loved going to Greyhounds in Gettysburg every year. She also loved going to pet fairs. She was the queen of costume contests and won many first place ribbons. She was also a very lucky dog. If you wanted to win a raffle, just put her name on the ticket! She would do a few simple tricks but one trick she loved doing was singing. She is missed every day and will always remain in our hearts |
