And this is what made it the hardest to let go, out of all the ones we’ve had to let go of. He was playing in the creek, his favorite place, just hours before he had to go to rainbow bridge. He didn’t have the chance to live his senior years, they were stolen from this wonderful baby boy by cancer. Although his body was giving up, his spirit was not, he wanted to play in his favorite spot, he wanted to fetch and tear up sticks, and play ball, he wanted to run, and with all his many facial expressions, he wanted to smile and be happy. He was excited to see his Daddy and Mama come to the creek. He was always happy till the very end, playing ball outside of the emergency hospital minutes before the end with his Papa, Aunt and Shaggy. We said that malnourished puppy could stay until he could find another home, but ended up caving when he stole our heart. Even his great-granny who was scared of him because he was a bull dog, ended up loving and praying for him so much.. He showed her he was just as loving as that little Shaggy dog, she’s so fond of. When he moved up the road with our son, he always ran away to Memas and Papas house. He told us, this is his home and he’s staying! Who would’ve thought in the end, we would’ve done anything possible to keep him home with us forever. I’m sure Snoop, Sky, Boots and Flossy were happy to see you this morning, Benji. We love you and miss you so much. Benji Bass 10/31/16-07-21-21 |
