Tara passed away on January 26, 2022, surrounded by her family who loved her deeply. Her nickname was “Mom.” She was nearly 15 years old and had been adopted in 2008, after she was found running in an abandoned building in Pittsburgh, PA. She was love, joy, laughter, and pure happiness mixed in with a teeny tiny bit of spite and rebellion. She could often be seen “smiling” with her tongue hanging out. Whether enjoying a long walk or gorging on a rotisserie chicken, Tara enjoyed every moment. Her favorite things were car rides, chasing cats, eating junk food, sitting in the window, laying on the couch, the hose, walks around Kendall Road, her friend Shadow, stealing food off people’s plates, occasionally drinking from the toilet, her family ( Tom, Alicia, Holly, and Thomas) the words “walk” and “chicken”, zoomies around the pool, vacations, and stuffed animals. She was always happy to see us, always waiting by the door. It was not enough time. Tara grew old and the time came to let her go. She left this world in our arms after a full and happy life. We know that she is in Heaven with her best friend Shadow and they are young again, running and playing. She will live in our hearts for the rest of our lives, until that joyful day when we meet again. Thank you for your love, your life was a gift to us. You were such a good girl! |
