Bodie McNamara, age 16, most recently residing in Weymouth, Massachusetts, passed away peacefully on August, 11, 2022. Bodie, born on April 1, 2006, was rescued after 4 months of neglect in Charlotte, North Carolina. He enjoyed abundant love from his devoted adoptive mother, Meghan McNamara, for the rest of his long life, during which the two of them lived in 11 different apartments with more than a dozen roommates in three states. Known by many nicknames, including Bobo, Bobo bear, baby boy, Sauce, and most recently old boy, Bodie, was remarkably adaptable to changing circumstances. He had discerning culinary tastes with strong preferences for peanut butter cups, pot roast, and whipped cream, which he was once lucky to enjoy by sharing the same can with his niece Ellery. Bodie loved to sprint off-leash on hikes, at playgrounds, and in fields, though he refused to chase and return balls. His adventurous spirit sometimes got him into trouble when he’d venture too far off leash or find something truly disgusting to roll in. Though his keen mind let him solve even the most advanced dog puzzles quickly, Bodie will be remembered most for his big heart. He was extremely patient and gentle with children of all ages. And, he was Meghan’s most loyal and loving companion through many life changes and the darkest days of the pandemic. Bodie endured many health challenges over the last few years with grace and continued to find joy every day, even on the hard days. He is survived by his dog brother, Martin, and dog cousin, Teddy, as well as Meghan and her family, including three nieces and a nephew.Guestbook
