Dempsey Locke, aka Doodles, Schnootie, Buddy, Pal, Best Dog in the World. Dempsey was a once-in-a-lifetime doggy. His deep brown eyes would stare through you into the depths of your soul. His lean-to hugs would embrace your being. His snuggles and paw-to-arm connection were the highlights of the day. Dempsey understood his family. He loved his family deeply. He always put his family first and watched out for them and their safety. He never stopped loving his family. His love for each member of the family was real and tangible. He didn’t care about anything else than being right next to the ones he loved. The special bond he shared will forever be missed. He was a dog like no other. His daily enjoyments included chasing rabbits (and sometimes catching them), playing in the snow, looking out the front door at the world, listening to Ella Fitzgerald and Dizzy Gillespie on the record player with Mom, following Dad wherever he went and waiting endlessly until Dad came home from work or shopping. His favorite place to visit was Coal Dock Park, along Lake Michigan in Port Washington, WI. He would love the abundance of sniffs, and flowers, and plants, and watch the fish jump in the lake and the ducks swimming. Dempsey loved going to the park, and would howl for joy whenever the car turned the corner to enter the park. More than anything, though, Dempsey loved to love and be loved. Anyone who would come over he would embrace, and have an instant new bestie to spend time with while they were visiting. His kindness, and genuine friendship were unmatched. Rest in peace, Schnootie. Daddy & Mommy cannot wait to see you and hug you again, someday.Guestbook
