Memorial

You never choose a dog, a dog chooses you.
Let me tell you about a journey. For a long time I was against having dogs. (Dogs have always been my favorite thing on this planet and I still feel like we don’t deserve them) The pain of my childhood pain of losing my first dog lingered. Fate had different plans.
Fast forward to a drunk evening with Craig Lamberson and Kelly Ozias Lamberson. Craig and I felt like a drunk stroll to say hello to Brian Fortner. Unbeknownst to us Brian’s pitties had puppies. Without warning Jon Snow had chosen me. Immediately upon picking him up I knew this was my dog. Four weeks later we picked up Jon Snow and Khaleesi.
My friend has been loyal from day one and cared truly about two things: Food (his dad is a foodie) and that everyone was ok. Tired, sad, upset, angry and Jon Snow was always there to comfort you.
Along our journey we dealt with a horrendous divorce, a couple of moves and discovered several people along the way. No matter the situation Jon Snow was next to us.
Jon Snow was always James sidekick. The love the two shared was something special to behold. James was able to experience what true love is from our boy. There is nothing like a bond between a dog and a boy.
Rachel Silver was the first contact for him. Tammy Samples Steve Haynes Shawn Mitchell Diane Mitchell were favorites of his.
Austin McKay and Ashlyn McKay the first true dog sitters and then of course there was …..
Sheva Afzali and Jos. Previous life experiences made me somewhat leery about dating anyone with a child. Well……
Jon Snow had different ideas. There are a couple of pics of “Snows” with Josboss. That boy loved her from minute one till his last breaths.
Jon Snow also became Sheva’s baby boy. I’m an old man. I don’t stay up. Well the two of them stayed up many a night together. I really think it came down to her bribing him with food and ice lol. Seriously a dog has never had a better dog mom.
Jon snow also had mom number two in Terri Turner Kent. The dogs love her like she is the OG mom. I can never give enough thanks to my second non wife for all the help she does with everything esp. our furbabies!!!
Today at 230pm he found his eternal peace I’m trying to focus on what a wise man told me last week.
“I know that their day will probably come before mine so I will enjoy every minute of the journey”. God had to have put me in his path for a reason. I’m thankful for being loved by such a kind soul as his.
Travel well my friend. I know my grandparents are welcoming you with open arms. I know Champ is thrilled to meet you. I know Mojo has his smile and Bailey just tapped you with her frisbee. I will see you again someday. I love you Jon Snow.
