Blessed Be Queekers Keefe. Walk proud among your ancestors in the great hall of Bast & Sehkmet. Your ancestors are sad to see you but they lift their voices singing songs of your deeds and telling stories of bravery. Remember that you were loved so very much. They will meet you on the other side when it is their time. Until then, rest and worry no more little Warrior.

Memorial
Queekers Keefe is the beloved family member, goddess, friend, and purrfect cat of the Keefe/Saramosing family. She joined the family in 2010, 2 weeks after the birth of one of Makayla Saramosing’s daughters, Sydney Keefe. Queekers lived a long and mostly healthy life. Queekers and her family lived in the Settlers Crossing neighborhood in Deer Creek, Oklahoma, until they moved to a cat farm in August, 2023. Queekers had always been an avid mouser and skilled bird hunter, and she also enjoyed snacking on an occasional insect. Queekers also enjoyed cuddling, catnip, and watching bird videos on the big screen television at their Deer Creek home. Many people loved their goddess, Queekers, whenever she went. On November 10, 2024 it was apparent to her closest family member, Makayla Saramosing, that Queekers Keefe had become ill and was hiding underneath one of the reclining chairs in her home for safety and privacy. The following morning Makayla took Queekers from their home in Hitchcock, Oklahoma to The Visiting Veterinarian for an evaluation. Indeed, Makayla had not known Queekers was the in the process of dying, or she would have rushed her in that very night she first got home and saw Queekers was sick. Dr. David Newsome, Dr. Derek Newsome, and Dr. Heather Cobb, as well as assistance from Linda and other staff there helped diagnose her with stage IV chronic kidney disease (CKD) that had gone unnoticed until she suddenly got to the critical point of near death. Together, the medical staff came up with a comprehensive medical care plan for Queekers that would end up extending her life for another 4 1/2 days. Though much less time that Makayla had hoped to have with Queekers, their care nonetheless gave Queekers and Makayla more time to spend together as family and goddess and human before Queekers passed away than Queekers and Makayla would have otherwise had. On the night of November 14, 2024, Makayla Saramosing had been staying with Queekers at their office in OKC instead of their countryside home at their cat farm, so they could be close to the vet’s office for daily fluids, medications, tests, and exams. Queekers hadn’t been eating or drinking on her own, so Makayla had been helping feed her and give her needed medicines. That same evening, Makayla then noticed in Queekers an unusually labored manner of breathing. So, she decided to take Queekers to the Neel Veterinary Hospital in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. While en route, Queekers began gasping for air. Two minutes prior to their arrival at the emergency room, Queekers stopped gasping for air in Makayla’s arms and finally went completely silent. Makayla cried and played the song “In the Arms of an Angel” by Sara McLachlan for Queekers as she likely made her final transition then and there. Once at the Neel (Emergency) Veterinary Hospital, the staff rushed Queekers to the care of Dr. Sydney Barnes. Together Dr. Barnes and her team have Queekers medications and attempted 7 cycles of CPR on her at Makayla’s request, but to no avail. Indeed, Queekers was likely dead on arrival (DOA), and even the most valiant attempts by trained medical staff to reviver her unfortunately proved unsuccessful. Though Makayla’s wife was in the Philippines at the time of all of this happened, Vivien Keefe did call via video chat and was there with Makayla during all her time at the Neel Veterinary Hospital and until she got back to the office and finally fell asleep. Before going to back to the office though, Makayla held Queekers’ lifeless body in her arms in a private room with her wife, Vivien Keefe, present via video chat from the Philippines. Prior to her sudden and untimely death, Queekers got to see her other family, Bella Keefe, Sydney Keefe, and Selena Keefe in-person and Ganguli Keefe via video chat in the days leading up to her death. This at least helped give everyone close to Queekers a chance say their final goodbye before Queekers passed away. Queekers Keefe is survived by her beloved family, Dr. Makayla Saramosing, Vivien Keefe, Bella Keefe, Sydney Keefe, Selena Keefe, Ganguli Keefe, Cirrus The Cat, Cheerio, Fat Pad/God, Moo, Oreo, Daisy, Cody, Goddess, and hopefully Rose & Gibson. She will be truly missed by all. May Bastet the cat goddess and all the other cat angels, gods, and goddesses surround and bless you forever, Queekers. We miss you terribly and always will, Queekers Keefe. Despite how terribly painful her sudden death has been for everyone in our family, it has been especially hard on Makayla. We know Queekers would want us to still be happy and living our lives, so we will do our best to focus on how brightly Queekers’ flame burned while she was here, rather than on the loss of her joyous flame/presence of her light in our lives. Following Dr. Makayla Saramosing’s future death, she has left clear instructions to her wife and kids to have her body’s ashes mixed with those of Queekers and her other cat gods and goddesses. Then all their ashes will be interred together at a cat cemetery or next to wherever Bella Keefe ends up being buried. A memorial service for Queekers Keefe will be held upon Vivien Keefe’s return from the Philippines at a date and time yet to be determined. Instead of sending flowers, Queekers’ family asks that you kindly make a donation to a no-kill non-human animal/god/goddess shelter like Free to Live in Edmond, Oklahoma in Queekers’ memory.Guestbook
